The bioplastic used in our EcoBowl containers are made from plants, not oil. Derived from cornstarch, one of the world’s most annually renewable resource, polylactic acid or polylactide (referred to as PLA) provides a biodegradable & compostable bioplastic product that is future friendly, and a sustainable alternative to traditional oil based plastic products. We use a crystalized corn bioplastic, referred to as CPLA that enables the EcoBowl to have a high heat tolerance & therefore is great for both hot and cold contents from ice-cream to soup.
