Sampson, Low, Marston & Co, London, 1891. 4th Edition. Thick, heavy 4to (8.5" x 7") in dark blue boards with gilt lettering to spine and front cover, of 439 pages. There are 46 full page lithographs (27 topographical and 19 views of ships and their interiors), 8 ships plans, charts and maps ...some folding and most in colours, 5 full page coloured plates of flags. The title page decoration is by Kate Greenaway. Advert leaves at front and rear, (including one foldout leaf), and many with steel engraved illustrations.The Boards are very loose on spine but not detached...the interior is exceptionally clean with no foxing or age discolouration and with just the odd stain or blemish here and there.
