Papa Huia Puhoro keepsake box.
This unique, rustic keepsake box, designed by Wiremu Barriball, is a lovely choice to hold your treasures. Jewellery, baby's first lock of hair, love notes, or those lollies you just don't want to share.
This recycled native NZ Rimu timber box features an engraved design inspired by the traditional puhoro pattern that adorns waka (canoes) and is seen in Ta Moko. By blending contemporary form with classic Maori artistry and flair, it resonates with both the present and the past, exuding authenticity and deep cultural significance.
The puhoro design is reminiscent of the ripples and swirls created by a paddle strike, propelling the waka through water. It symbolises agility, speed, and dexterity, qualities essential for a warrior. Additionally, the design represents movement, journey, and the momentum of life.
The inside of the lid is nice and smooth - perfect to engrave a name and a date.
Proudly made in Aotearoa, NZ.
