Chid's Kapa Haka Tama
The Kapa Haka Tama is fastend using velcro stripes which allows you to make them bigger or smaller.
A head band is also included.
This costume was inspired by designs derived from the costume worn by the now defunt Otatara Cultural Club of Taradale, Napier, New Zealand.
The design depicts New Zealands's National bird the Kiwi and is surrounded by the Niho-Taniwha pattern (the dragon's teeth) and the three Baskets of Knowledge.
This design was the work of three people, namely Ellen Coulter, Ngaupoko Batt and Baden Batt.
Only Baden is still alive and he unreservedly gives his consent to the costume and Maori motifs being used on these garments.
