McLaren MP4/2C. Made by Italeri, scale 1/12 plastic kitset.
The McLaren MP4/2C participated in the 1986 F1 Grand Prix. It was an advanced version of the MP4/2 that appeared in 1984, designed by John Barnard. The carbon monocoque frame is equipped with a 1.5-liter TAG Porsche V6 turbo engine developed by Porsche, and equipped with two KKK turbochargers on an 80-degree V6 cylinder with a four-valve head. It demonstrated the strongest performance among the power units of the F1 Grand Prix at the time. The machine was entrusted to two drivers, Alain Prost and Keke Rosberg, in the 1986 seasons; Alain Prost, who recorded four wins and four second-place finishes, won the drivers' championship, and in the constructors, he used a Honda engine. It came in second after Williams, who installed it.
This model kit from Italeri reproduces the McLaren MP4/2C in 1/12 scale! The body cowl is detachable even after completion; the monocoque is divided into upper and lower parts to accurately reproduce the shape of the hexagonal cross section. The engine is faithfully reproduced, as is the V-type six-cylinder to auxiliary equipment such as the turbocharger. The suspension is also modeled in detail, with delicate suspension arms, uprights and brakes. Decals and a manual in Japanese are included too. The mechanism different from the current F1 will be interesting to see at 1/12-scale, and any F1 fan will not want to miss out
