Curtiss P-40B Warhawk, 155/41-13317. 2nd Lt. Kenneth M Taylor, 47th Pursuit Squadron,15th Pursuit Group, USAAF, Wheeler Field, Pearl Harbor Raid, 7th December, 1941. American single-engined, single-seat, all-metal fighter bomber. The Warhawk was used by most Allied powers during World War II, and remained in frontline service until the end of the war. It was the third most-produced American fighter of World War II, after the P-51 Mustang and P-47 Thunderbolt. Kenneth Marlar Taylor was a USAAF pilot stationed at Wheeler Field during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941. Along with his fellow pilot and friend George Welch, Taylor managed to get his P-40B airborne under fire and succeeded in shooting down two Japanese dive bombers.
