An original First World War period 'Central Association of Volunteer Training Corps badge', Crowned oval title, the centre depicting the war goddess 'Bellona' with the reverse showing maker's details for "Fattorini & Sons Bradford".This has a Registration Number for 1914 on the back. Nice badge .....Gilt over Brass with enamel infill. Measures 1 1/21 inches in length..... very nice condition. This is a Proficiency Badge of the Volunteer Training Corps who were Active September 1914 – December 1918. Disbanded, January 1920. Country, United Kingdom. Role, Defence from invasion. The Volunteer Training Corps was a voluntary home defence militia in the United Kingdom.
