A rather fascinating piece framed under glass with a combination of Needle Point, celluloid, and material used in its creation. There are two depictions of a soldier and I take it that it is the same person...one early on in his military career, and the other as a General in what I think is a Prussian General 's uniform with loads of medals and decorations in evidence...or possibly a Bavarian Regiment. The wording is all in German and reads....RESERVE 1906 ----ERINNERUNG AN MEINE DIENSTZEIT. I think the approx translation is something like....IN MEMORY OF YOUR SERVICE. This is a good large piece measuring 23" x 18".....there are some small damage areas to the frame but the interior work is in wonderful condition for age. An interesting German Military historical item. The name of the General is not evident although there are some names written on the frame and backing board but I have no idea whether these relate to the item or the framer.
